Hi All, a quick email to introduce my car!
It is a Quantum xtreme which I have had for around 3 years and it has had 2 previous owers. It was originally built by Quantum in around 2000 with a 2ltr pinto and then re-built by them in around 2009 ish by the last owner with a new Zetec 1.6 engine high lift cams with Jenvey thottles and Omex management system.
I have not been able to drive it too often over the past year or so due to hip problems (too much running in the past - new hip sorted this :-). Now I am reasonable fit so am enjoying driving it again.
During the last few years I have been also slowly re-building / replacing bits of the car I was not that happy with
- new clutch cam wheel to give better clutch bite (the original was very poor!)
- new master cylinder
- re-place rear brakes in full
- new procomp rear shocks
- fitted new primer pump, swirl pot replaced injection pump
- repainted rear suspension and replace the bolts (very poor original epoxy powder coating)
- re-built exhaust muffler so it can be repacked
I had a Dutton Phaeton many years ago that was so poorly made that I had to almost re-build as it. I thought buying a factor built car would have made for a more easy ownership but this has not been the case
I have some pics on Picasa however the share function seems to have stopped working. I will upload some pics when it is up and going again.
Cheers Alex

Hi Alex and welcome.
There are member who have registered down your way, around shampton/Portsmouth and a bit inland, the trick will be to drag them out and meet them!
There are often run outs that end or are in the south downs area, a bit east of you, i dont know whether once you get back in teh swing of driving the Quantum you'll be up for a run or two....most of us tend to drive for 40-60 mins to meet up with a group, have a drivem, bit of brekkie and then back home....

ANY member can post up an idea for a run in the Members Run section.....best way is to shout out where you are and a rough idea how far away you're happy to go, see who responds and then work out a little route/meet. Help is always available for route planning etc if that's new to you...

cheers

BTW - my soft top is in need of a minor repair at the front, the rest of it is OK as I try not to use it :-) too much.

Any suggestions of where in the Southampton area that could be repaired?

Cheers
Alex

Welcome to SKCC :D

I would try any local soft top specialist, we have on that does 4x4 tops near here, but the material will be much the same for repairs.
