I hope this isn't deemed as advertising because I'm involved in organising it, but I thought the above event (which replaces the Donington show) might be of interest to SKCC members. Certainly a lot closer for most of us than Leicestershire!
The Donington show has moved to Castle Combe in order to give show-goers the chance to get on track (something that wasn't possible at Donington because of the prohibitive cost to hire the circuit). The new event runs alongside an existing classic car show that last year attracted more than 60 clubs, so there should be plenty to see in addition to the kit car element.
As well as the chance to get out on track in your own car, manufacturers will be giving demo rides, and there will be all the usual trade stands you'd see at a static kit car show (albeit, now as an outdoor show).
But the really good bit is that you can book 15-minute track sessions (£20 in advance, £25 on the day). So who's up for an SKCC gathering at the event? Kit car drivers get in free, but they have to be part of a club stand. I can organise that on behalf of the SKCC if it helps, so I'd need to know numbers and then distribute the passes before the event.
You never know, my car might even be back on the road by June. If it is, I'll probably camp there the night before.
