Been lurking around for a while and thought it about time I joined.
Cut my kit car teeth in the mid 80s building a Dutton Melos, one of the first ones number 15 I think.
Ran a 1700 crossflow for a good number of years, then decided there was no substitute for horses, so in went an Essex 3.0 V6.
Mortgage and three kids put paid to fun time motoring so eventually the Dutton was sold.
About eight years ago the bug bit again and I bought an NGTCV8 non runner as a rolling restoration.
I had always liked the TCV8, couldn't afford one when I left art school so that's where the Dutton came in.
The NG does more rolling than restoration, again it is down to spare time, I have other hobbies which take up a fair slice of my time.
In the summer I get to a number of classic car meets/shows, but would like to get to some kit car ones.
Usually do Detling and intend to go this year. Only just read about the Westerham meet, that will be like old times for me because I used to go to meetings there with the Dutton Owners Club in the 80s/90s.
This is the old girl, fitted with a Rover 3.5, I need to change the wheels but can't find a Kent based alloy wheel place that I can go look and try, the ones I used to use have all gone!

Martin Welcome.
Nice to see something different and if you don't mind me saying so, rather saucy, coming along. I look forward to seeing that and saying hello to your good self.
Check out the Detling thread and ake sure you join us there if not before!
Once again welcome.

Re: Newbie in North Kent
Thanks for the welcome.
I like those wheels, look like cetrelines to me.
I have found a wheel and tyre place in Ashford but they don't open Saturdays, so it looks like some time of work in the week
Unless I get my measuring stick out and order something online.

Whoops turns out it's Gravesend, which better as it is nearer to me
Why I thought Ashford I don't know.
This is the company:
http://www.rimstyle.com/
Not the cheapest, but at least I can get to look at them, will give them a call in the week to see if that is possible.
