Saturday
Race day at lydden Hill
First heat 3laps in
engine went BOOM !!
Sunday
Wells run 2022
In the Tiger
Straight off the drive,
brake light stuck on, luckily only slight adjustment
Get going, trying to pick up pace on the A21 on route to Tunbridge Wells.
Lost power, got onto the verge,
Tried restarting Nothing !!
Text Matt to say I’m not sure I’m going to make it.
Luckily he was running late and he pulled up behind me along with his dad I his TR4
Tried the usual spark leads coil ecu, then unplugged the fuel from carbs switched pump on nothing !
Dismantled the back of the car to find the fuel filter had broken off from its fixings ( alright cable tie) and was rubbing on the inside of the wheel burnt a nice hole in it. So the pump was pumping air not fuel
Big Thanks as always to Matt and his Dad for stopping
Got to start in time for a bacon roll and tea
Matt was setting off 25th his dad 26th and I was 27th
Had a great day after all the excitement had a play with some TVR’s and a couple Porsche’s had a tea break at the
Perry Orchard cafe
then got stuck behind a left hooker lancia
Ian had TR4 problems so DNF
Great day had by all ended with a BBQ
What a weekend

Well, it would be dull if you never had to open the bonnet...

Well done guys, just a thought, if possible could people who get asked to join those run outs post on here or on the chat group even so that I can try a join you all on slower run outs and the chat group would keep reminding me to join the runs.

Re: What a weekend
Well it turns out the minis block had a little hole
I managed to find a low mileage cheap engine. The guy I bought it off, I’ve used before, so with the courtesy of matts truck we headed off to Gatwick area picked up the engine. Took engine and gearbox out as one lump. separated from the gearbox and then fitted the new used block
And within no time it was all back together, and running.
The only thing I needed was a drive shaft as the one I bought with the engine was for a midlands gearbox and not a Getrag box luckily euros had one.
As always big thanks to Matt for picking it up and helping fit it
So all back together just waiting for RACE DAY NOW to try it

I’m not sure if it’s race ready until I hit the track, then we will see if the engine is good or bad lol
