Guess I found out today what my winter project's going to be:

You're looking at the brake lines that are normally hidden under the right-side engine mount. So why can you see them? Easy: the mount has borken off completely. I noticed this today after a short run out: there was no space between the air filters and the top chassis rail anymore. I guess I'm quite lucky, because this could have been worse. I could have been on a Sunday morning run (to run today was canceled) and both brake lines could have been severed. Imagine approaching a left hand corner and suddenly your engine is on the tarmac, you have no front brakes, and there's a lorry coming the other way. Tiger? Deathtrap!

Lucky you spotted that! And at least the weather is rubbish at the moment.
I'm happy to help if I can. I have an engine crane you can borrow, but it's near Brands hatch at the moment.

Re: My Winter Project
Steve, Duncan, thanks! Is this an 'engine out' job? If so, then I'll start stripping the engine.
I'm a bit worried about the right-hand side of the chassis. I wonder is it has bent. The fibreglass side seems to be under more stress than usual. I wonder if the air filter bases leaning on the top chassis rail have done something bad.

Re: My Winter Project
You dont have to take the engine out the tiger engine mounts are not up to the job and need to be re made with a bit of extra iron in them. The top rail should be ok the carbs would have broken befor the rail got bent. Its a bit of a pain but take the mount off and then get the brake pipes out.
Do both mounts

Re: My Winter Project
Ouch, I can't figure how the brake line has got below the plate at the rear edge, shouldn't it be on top along its entire length? If it opened up enough to 'drop' through the gap I'd check the chassis thoroughly

Thanks, all, I guess I better stock up on beer...
Tony, the brake lines normally run underneath the engine mounting plate. The plate has rotated because my jack's supporting it at the rear, so the brake line is now above it at the front
