Keep going rich, I know these niggly jobs take time but you’re knocking them off at a rate, you’re gonna have a car you can rely on very soon, hopefully you’ll time it to have some half decent weather to shack it down, going to miss the vids though

Just on way back from picking up the refurbished wheels in Edith, only had a chance for a couple of quick snaps as was getting dark and wanted to get going to join the traffic Q but they look good.

Wow Rich, so nearly there mate.
The roll bar issue with the paint, instead of rubbing down and repainting, could you respray another couple of layers and the polish back ? only an idea from someone who has no clue.
Fingers cross you get your engine issues sorted, hopefully its something silly.

Re: Locost ''Eleanor'' Rebuild
Colin, not made my mind up yet, might try a couple more coats of thinner mix to see if it floats out.
Need to do a rattle can clear coat as well.
Just fitted and tested the drivers side rear lights, did a nut and bolt check under all 4 arches to make sure I had fitted loctite and /or spring washers and put the refurb wheels back on.

Few things on the go today, sorting out the top section of the steering column shroud, still can’t get the car to start despite having injectors firing fuel and spark plugs firing.
Lightly rubbed down the roll cage hoop and some touching up to do on the two top rails so all prep up ready for some coats later this evening.

Re: Locost ''Eleanor'' Rebuild
I have had another side job going on for some time now, due to me raising the steering column up as part of the rebuild the shrould that goes over the top of the steering column no longer goes under the dash board and I am not too keen on cutting either the dash or the shrould in case I decide to lower it again and due to cancellation of car shows and auto jumbles I cannot buy a second shrould to cut and seem hard to get hold of via eBay or Amazon.
So I decided to try and make my own shrould rather than leave it open or tie rap some plastic over it.
So a few months ago I cling filmed the original shrould to protect it as a mould and to act as a removal devise before adding fibreglass resin and mesh a few times to get the basic shape all be it a little bit bigger.
So work over the past months have trimmed and refined the shape and today finished the fixing method so decide to start the filling process and a bit of rubbing down and more smaller filling.

Fibre glassing looks like fun, albeit messy fun. I guess it's sanding and pointing next or are you going to keep the raw look!
Good luck getting the car started, you know it'll be something simple...
