Re: "Total Transmission Failure" - Help!
I have just taken the Gearbox off and found the problem... I don't think it should do that!
Having got to this stage I think I'll get a reconditioned unit ...

Shame it was not an easy fix, but all the fun of being a car owner
If you want a home for the old box I might be able to squeeze it in for a rebuild some time.
Rich.

BGH are good with type9 boxes, plenty of people on here have had them, you can chose the ratio, if you want a long first etc. They will also sell you a service kit with new synchro's etc

It was a learning exercise! The box was old and gear selection was sometimes "interesting" , so it was probably time to upgrade anyway. I need to get a replacement asap... before a lose the bits scattered about my garage and forget completely how it goes back together!

Its basically the old housing with virtually all new in internals!, they were pretty shagged (...Trigger''s broom comes to mind!). I got it done by Paul at First Motion Transmissions in Baldock , after a friend in Baldock recommended him. can't start it for a couple of weeks due to work and the DTM at Brands ... but she will live again!
