Just to let everyone know that DJ's are not required for lunch. No dress code as we are in private rooms. However no dress code means some clothes please and mankinis are banned as I want to enjoy my lunch !!

Now that's a thought !!! I'll have to buy a new hat to wear in the kit, just so it matches the Tux :D

Guys and girls my driver has had to pull out so now I need a driver or a navigator for this if I take Daves place using my blue car.

It is just a bit of fun and an opertunity to see the lovely country side., with check points along the way, tea stops and lunch breaks.
Instructions in the form of simplish book with left and right, at distances is given out at start.

Text or pm me as cant do it with out and would rather not miss out.

Quick pic from today from my phone taken by Alison:

We had a great day out with very good weather. Alison and I offered to navigate for Rich, a decision he might have regretted as we sailed off down the wrong road near Headcorn....... It was soon corrected though and after that we didn't lose our way at all. It turned out that my intercom was set up with voice control on the passenger headset. I had switched this off on the driver side after Kenton complained of me broadcasting engine noise, but never thought the default setting would be ON for the passenger. Sorry Rich, I sorted it when we got home

Here's a picture at the start:

It was very well organised, each car had a numbered bay. We had a good laugh when the two Ferrari Testarossas arrived as they were next to each other and the cars were the same size as the bays.

A very pleasant and warm drive to Lenham where we stopped for tea/coffee, thanks Richard :)
Then onto the lunch stop at Eastwell Manor Hotel, where we had an excellent roast dinner.
The grounds were an ideal place to park up and I couldn't resist a few pictures of the SKCC cars in exotic company:

After lunch more great roads. We were behind a left hand drive very wide Testarossa that looked to be too big for Kent lanes and made oncoming cars take to the hedges a couple of times, but that gave us more chance to take in the views and Alison could take her time on the route :)

After a petrol stop in Wadhurst, it was a quick run back to Tonbridge for photo opportunity at the castle and a nice cream tea.

Good to see you all, and thanks to the Tonbridge Lions and James for organising the day in a very good cause.

Not a lot I can add to Duncan's report.
Our first time doing the Lions tour, a great way to see the Kent country side at a sedate pace. The start was at Tonbridge castle car park and there were a lot of very nice cars to have a look at before we started
The food was very nice at lunch time in a lovely setting, it also got very hot while we were waiting to get called in for lunch.
The cream tea at the end was a nice touch, all sitting out side when it stared to rain, all of a sudden very one was putting there roofs on but it didn't last.
Its was a great day, both Sue and myself enjoyed it and we will be back next year.
