great thread chris..keep up the good work.

fyi when i changed from carbs to EFI troy @ nms said to me for my set up (baffled injection tank) there was no need for a swirl pot or two pumps. might be worth adapting your tank with baffles and intank hp pump.

mine just runs through a filter 1 then an in tank walbro pump then regulator then fuel rail direct back to tank. never had any issues and never gone round a corner and had fuel starve. tank has a breather fitted too.

just a thought mate...will be easier to install than all that other stuff.

Cheers Lee, I've already got the pumps and swirl pot so will go down that route. Need to find a simple (and cheap) way to beat the 8mm fuel line but that will wait until I've finished messing with the ali

Hi Lee,

That could be useful, is it 8mm (ID) and is it HP in which case it'd be very useful :-) Happy to pay the postage...

Hey buddy

Yep its 1.5 metres exactly HP and its 8mm. :ugeek:
The issue i had when fitting braided hose with plastic was been able to grip the pipe hard enough to fit the APS connectors as they get crushed in a vice with just a little pressure. So to combat this and make life a hell of alot easier i bought some specialist magnetic clamps that fit onto your vice and grip the braided pipe without crushing it. I do have these if you want to borrow them for your project, but i would like them back at some stage please..
It was a ball ache fitting all the connectors myself and some did leak to start with so had to be redone.

Pm me your adress and il send the fuel line i have left over and if you want the clamps il post them too.
The clamps and hose should save you about 30 quid mate :D

Cheers Lee, will PM you shortly. TBH I wasn't planning on using APS style connectors, just the fuel spec jubilee clips and barbs, although I'm not sure what the fuel pump has on it, will check at the weekend one let you know...

Ok chris no worries.
I cant remember but might be worth googling if this style of hose is compatible with just Jclips.
Im sure someone told me its a good idea for APS AN connectors on the high pressure part and Jclips on low pressure part.....cant remember now.

Still haven’t dug out the fuel pump but did a bit of CAD and fab, slowly moving forward although I’m beginning to wonder if there’ll be any petrol still on sale by the time I get done.

When to cutting the braided fuel pipe wrap insulation tape where you want to cut. Cutting through the tape helps stop the ends from fraying. I find a 1mm disc cutter works well but make sure you clean any debris from the cut end and flush the system before connecting to the fuel rail.
