Some progress this weekend decided to swap out the brake master cylinder for a mk2 mondeo one I’d bought a few years ago but when I couldn’t work out how to flare the brake lines I gave up. Now with more determination and some spare line I YouTube taught myself and after have to weld on some angle adjusters it’s all done, new flares etc and no leaks...yet

Yep that's it. Webcon ECU uses it instead of a thermostat housing sensor. Wasn't aware it was only in the metal. They must have had a reason. Does work though as my over temp warning flashed when I had a fluid loss in my early days on the road.

Bit of progress on the plenum, have TIG’d it together, pic below shows me getting ready to pressure test it. Did a few rounds of test and weld getting up to 5 psi before it leaks. Just wondering how concerned I need to be, as 5 psi will be less than required for NA and with FI then will it matter? Clearly I don’t have a clue but want to understand if/why I’m wrong????

For those that are wondering, I’ve got a spare manifold plate that I’ve used to bolt some none permiable foam to the plenum.

The manifold needs to be able to hold a vacuum, which means the external pressure will be greater than 5lbs at times. If there are leaks, it will mean that unmetered air is getting into the engine leaning it out. At best, the tick over will be irratic, worse case the engine will lean out and fail.

Ahh so at throttle closed? There’s a simple solution but I don’t think I’ll try it!!!

Back to pressure testing it is

Making some more progress. Realised that the plenum didn't work so have decided to mount the SC and it's plumbing then work on the plenum once I know what space is left!

Next some ally work on the SC inlet and outlet incorporating a blow off valve.
Have decided to go for 2.5" tubing.

Been inspired by Rich's fuel system discussion and at work I've drawn this which is my plan for the fuel system. Have I got too many filters? If so which ones would you delete?
