Engine is back in, although I wish I’d run a tap through the engine mount bolt holes before putting it in. Work on the thermostat housing continues. I’ve got a working thermostat mount that uses the original cover plate and am just sorting the engine seal before putting all together
I’ll post pics of the thermostat housing once it’s finished.
Next steps are to refit the ancillaries whilst running new water hoses and fitting a new cambelt

Got a few more jobs done and made a thermostat housing, probably cost me about £60 including additional tooling, now pretty she ain’t but it should be more robust than a plastic one, and worked out cheaper than an old alloy one pics below:

After a bit of rework here's the hopefully finished article, will have to see how it behaves with a hot engine!!
