I admire your "have a go" attitude. Looks sturdy.
Whats IAT and why 3 of them?

Re: Man with spanners - thinks he's a mechanic
I'd describe my welding as "structural" rather than pretty, but it does the job.
An IAT is an Intake Air Temperature sensor, I think I bought a fast reacting one from trigger wheels when I bought the mega squirt but it's enclosed so will check as I've been reading the same. I think the ideal location is post the inter cooler but as far away from the engine to avoid it artificially reading high due to being warmed by the engine. The 3 take offs are for vacuum, 1 for the fuel regulator, 1 for the ecu, think I'll mount the sensor on the plenum and 1 for a boost gauge, initially i blank it off and fit one if I get time. Trying to focus on the important jobs. Next up mount an additional idler pulley; finalise the SC mounting and build a 90 degree bend for the air intake/filter.

The IAT that came with my OMEX is enclose in a cage, so it's protected from knocks, but open to the air, perhaps yours is the same?

Good call on the IAT Steve and Tony, it was an enclosed one, so I've ordered a caged/exposed one from Extra EFI and a boss to match.
Cheers
Chris

More progress although dogged with illness and 'parenting' (apparently leaving the boy to watch TV all day is seen as a form of neglect, who knew!)
ECU is mounted and EDIS and fuel/O2 relay wired and working, all soldered. Did have a minor WTF moment when the relay unlatched after a couple of seconds, but it seems this is normal behaviour if you don't crank the engine - whew.
SC/Plenum and alternator are mounted.
Question on oil for FI, is 5/30 OK or do I need something a bit thicker, i.e 10/40?

been watching the progress with interest Chris, can't comment on oil - aside from the 'zetecs normally have 5-30'...but no idea if your set up would require anything different?

Sounds like your getting close! When's the first start date Chris?
Oil... 5w/30 should be fine tbh. I tried running something thicker - 5w/40 - but it made the hydraulic tappets on my silver-top even noisier than they already are

Yea feels like I'm making progress. I think I'm a couple of weeks away barring hiccups.
Need to source some bigger injectors, I'm looking at the Bosch Greens at 440cc but struggling to find somewhere trustworthy to buy them from, so if anyones got any ideas as there seems to be a lot of fakes...
I'm using a mondoe throttle body but can't seem to be able to source any connectors, might just have to use spade connectors, have a couple of things on the way that might fit with a bit of 'modification'!
Cheers for the advice on oil.
