More click bait.. :D Been thinking long and hard about the Viento. I am struggling for the time to sort it out and the 4.6 transplant is a considerable amount of work, involving a rewire and various other mods before it then will need mapping. The car in its present state isn’t worth the aggro and cost tbh.

So plan b.. bought a couple of 3.9 engines as a job lot and will hopefully be able to rebuild one and refresh with new bearings etc and drop straight in to the Viento to get me up and running again relatively quickly.

In other news, daily driver got a bit of a whine, replaced the driveshafts and front wheel bearings.. then broke a new driveshaft, so replaced the gearbox, clutch and DMF, thinking it was the diff.

Good news is I’m lighter, by a good few quid.. not so good news, whine is still there

Yet another shout out to Dick, Jay and the team who went above and beyond to get me out of the tartan rug and travel sweet Civic and back in the tintop smoker. Any thoughts on the noise most welcome.. btw it’s not swmbo.
Power.. small nail, fast hammer, Torque.. small nail, big hammer.. I got a big hammer :P

When it comes to diff whines, I find ear defenders work well

I replaced the whining diff on my Seven with a completely different unit, sounded EXACTLY the same! At least I fitted an lsd at the same time 8-)

Get your car running Mike we need you out on some Sunday runs!
