Re: Midlana Build
They look pretty good for the price. I'm on the trail of some used Westfield ones for mine - fair bit cheaper....also bought a cheap pattern copy Caterham nose to start me off making a mould for the Midlana nose. Both items going into long term storage

Do you mean the triangle clamp and UJ section? I've got one that you could have.
The column has a UJ with a 14mm "square hole". The rack has an escort spline on it (9/16th diameter 36 spline iirc) there is a UJ available with a escort spline one end and a sierra triangle fitting the other so I was going to get one of those to fit on the rack and then machine a shaft to fit the Sierra triangle and Renault Square as they are obviously easier to do than splines.
Hope the above makes sense...
If the UJ has the escort spline on one end and fitting for a sierra triangle on the other, I'd be pleased to take it off your hands David, just let me know what you want for it.

Re: Midlana Build
I think I follow. I don't have a shaft that would go all the way (ha ha) from the Sierra triangle end all the way down to the splined rack clamp. For me that was a bespoke item shipped by Tiger. What I have is a short triangular section. One end has the clamp to go around the Sierra triangular column end, in the middle is the UJ, and then there is a short section of triangular shaft with a sort of hook on the end. If any use, for the triangle clamp, you can have it for postage.
Found a pic here:
I've also got the upper column, but the bearings are busted where the ape damaged it when stripping the Sierra for me (long story). I don't need any of it except I'd like to keep the lock as a spare.

Re: Midlana Build
Thanks David much appreciated, can I leave it as an option for now and I'll let you know once I have a closer look at things over the weekend?
On a slightly different note is anyone out there conversant with AutoCAD? Now I'm done with the masters, I've a little spare time on my hands and would like to learn but I haven't got a bloody clue, its all foreign to me I'm just after someone who would be wiling to spend a couple of hours going over the basic's to get me started, tried a few of the help tutorials but I can't remember or keep up with them willing to travel and do brekkie or lunch.

Hi Mike,
I use AutoCAD for work (2D only), I'm no expert but I'd be happy to take you through the basics. Drop me a PM or give me a call and we can sort something out. I assume you've already got it on your PC/laptop as my work laptop needs to download a licence from the server and this is sometimes problematic when working away from the office.
Cheers
Tony

Re: Midlana Build
Tony, thank you a most generous offer, hopefully I'll pick it up relatively quickly, though if I end up dead in the water I'll go back to scraps of paper and a blunt crayon..
PM sent and thanks again Tony.

Re: Midlana Build
A huge huge thanks to Tony for spending a few hours with me and going through some of the basics of AutoCAD, its bloody complicated.
Planning on giving it a go at the weekend, if I draw anything recognisable I'll post up..
Thanks again Tony.
