How High is a Chinaman?
sorry had to do that :-)
Well as the rear ends are all a bit different really depends on the car Neil.....Caterhams have an 8 gall tank that seems to be quite flat giving a worthwile boot area. Standard on a Tiger is 6.5 gallons but on the S/Cat its possible to increase the height - which i did, so have a tad over 8 gallons. If i'd had the time and inclination to measure the gap more precisely i reckon that getting 9.5 gallons would have been easily achievable. When i was running carbs i seemed to have to fill up before putting it back in the garage or very quickly after taking it out to play. With the TB's and bigger tank 200+ miles at cruising speed.

In the Dax Rush I have the standard tank which I think is around the 30 ltrs. Doesn't go very far with the V6 3.2 and Holley carb pumping it in. Lucky to do 100 miles of average driving which is a real pain when your in the middle of nowhere...

I've brought a 20lt Jerry can to top up to save going down the station every time I go out.

Also I use Super. How much is that nowadays! Its madness!

Have fun Sunday doesn't look like I ll be able to make it as somethings come up. Quite literally, flying in the afternoon.

Clive.
