Bottom line is whether you want/need a race battery Ben. What's your thinking?
The race guys only use them nominally for starting as they've got all sorts of back ups in the paddock.......no idea what they'd be like with a difficult engine?

Lol well I think the race batteries are pretty good with charge, etc.

Long life and weight saving!

You're prob right, its just that whenever i've seen the Tiger boys in the paddock they have them plugged in to all sorts of gizmos. That said the Caterham guys only have tiny batteries, suppose it depends what its turning over, compression etc....

Well the one I posted will turn over a 6 litre race engine lol so should cope with most things.

I think sometimes they use them without alternators, hence all the plugging in!!!

Ben, I have a petrol lawn mower battery in mine and it works a treat. Small and only £50 from Beaver Batteries in Ashford.
