First Proper Run

Postby AshG » Sun Mar 28, 2010 5:52 pm

Hi Guys

took the car out today on its first proper all legal run. managed to do 80miles just going round friends houses etc. she run spot on and didnt miss a beat. the suspension was a bit hard to start off. i had it on 13clicks droped it down to 8 and it was instantly better, may click it up to 9 on the back but will see how it goes.

its so adictive im tempted to go out again in a min. fuel economy seems ok too, did 80miles and used less than half a tank.

its fun at the moment and very fast in the corners but i can tell that it wont be long before i want some more straight line power :D

Sounds good Ash, what location are you in? if your near Maidstone come out on one of our weekend ealry morning breakfast blats :)

Straightline speed is fun, but i find it a tad boring plus with no roof it's damn noisey!!!

the tank is 25L so not to bad. Its only a 1600pinto had it setup setup on a rr to get it spot on im guessing thats why its ok on fuel.

engine runs nicely at 88deg.

im in rochester and am allways up for a run out if the weather is good.

How accurate is your gauge, mine seems to take ages to get to half a tank then a few miles later its in the red :o

It was wierd as Ben and I were driving up to the 4x4 show last Sunday and he was reading the article on your IVA test the penny dropped and we realised it was your car. :)

Given you suggested to me that I avoid Gillingham I was impressed with your deplomacy ;)

80 miles on 12.5 litres of fuel is nearly 30 MPG....... good effort
