Re: Garage News
I think I may have it fixed.
The Q has been getting worse, not starting easily, stopping after 30sec, not holding constant revs. Having changed from a Ford ECU to an Omex & still having the same symptoms was messing with my head. Earlier this week I'd turned the Low Pressure fuel pump up the other way & convinced myself it sounded better, but then the engine wouldn't start at all.
Yesterday in sheer desperation, I was testing the circuit across the switching side of the ECU relay, the fuel pumps were off, I turned the key to ign & the test lights came on, I turned the key to start & it started & settled into a perfect 800rpm idle - without the fuel pumps on!
I went in & thought about this & today I ran a new ign live from the fuse box bus to the relays, I swapped the "aftermarket" ECU relay for a Ford one & I re-loaded the map Omex had sent.
Turned the key, & after a little coughing, it settled into a perfect idle. It needs mapping, but I've driven it up & down the drive & it's pulling well, it's got up to 86° & stayed there (no front bodywork), so at the moment it's all looking pretty good.

Re: Garage News
I've started using the Quantum as the daily car to iron out any wrinkles, it made 131bhp on the rolling road (twice what the CVH left the factory with - probably three times what it actually had) it's doing over 40mpg & fingers crossed someone's coming to buy it next week

Re: Garage News
Hasn't called back
Might send a text, see if there's a reason, but this was expected - spend two weeks in the garage to get the Stylus usable for Wales, then still own the Quantum.
No matter, I'll put it on e-bay in the spring.
