Trickle Chargers

So guys, anyone use anything other than CTEK chargers for conditioning/charging your car battery?
Decide to SORN the saab and bought a CTEK for that - but noticed that there are loads of alternatives for about a 5th of the price. Any positive tales and recommends....
or is it CTEK all the way?

I've used one made by Accumate for the Sprite, and more recently our daughters car which just sits on the drive while she's at uni, seems to work fine. A short lead is available separately which fits to the battery terminals to plug it in otherwise you can use the crocodile clips that come with it. Worth checking what is supplied as standard, as I can't remember.....

Ive a ciggie lighter socket in the westy wired directly to the battery and I use the cheap Aldi charger that Phil got me a few years ago (think it was a tenner) that I plug into it throughout the winter - batteries always been good so I assume it does the job ok....

I got a Maypole one from work, I think it was £20 does bikes and cars, only use it on the kit but works fine for me.

Ha!! I don’t think I was the only one in the club to buy one either, infact I can’t really remember how much it was but I know it was cheap

On the Tiger I use a halfords cheapo battery charger, it looks like an old school power supply, brick on a plug type, if the battery's a bit low, but generally it's fine when left over winter.
On the MX5 I use a solar panel that I plug in when I'm not using it, keeps it topped up and ready to go for the once a fortnight drive, before the battery would often be dead and I was going through a battery a year. Not had any problems since, about 3 years and I'm not paying anything for the power
