New build time.......

Postby Hammy » Thu Jun 11, 2020 5:10 pm

Yep, at it again!! Lockdown got me busy on multiple projects: Restoring an old Yamaha, renovating a mountain of MX5 running gear parts and then too much time on the internet and Im building again. This time it's an ANC and my build thread is here as I'm a member of quite a few forums and FB groups it's easier to put it all here.....

You need help  I was very tempted by the look of these before deciding against another kit. Looking forward to seeing progress, and would like to see the finished article.

Oh that’s a very tidy motor. Lovely. I bet colour choice will be a nightmare! I do like It in BRG though.

What’s the estimated build time?

It will be quick and slowed only by weather. I think it will be running and rolling about 14 days after I get the kit. Then I'll spend some time on the detail of the body and trim. Colour wise, they do a nicer green than that photo now, RAL 6009 Fir Green, like BRG but a bit darker like the old 50's Lotus' and D types. It will probably be that colour and done with a few tips of the hat to the old Lotus' and Chapman. Sir Stirling and Jim Clark raced the DBR1 and I'm going more Lotus with it. I don't want to do 'stick and Aston Badge on it'..... Owned a few Lotus' and will be going for lightweight stripped racer with it.
