Glad you're OK Steve, really sorry to hear about the car. I'm probably not much help, but you've helped me out on numerous occasions, so if you need a hand with anything please shout.

Really bad news :(

I'm glad you're OK Steve, but very sorry about your car. It always looked immaculate, and was one of the prettiest Sevens I have see.

As Mike says, if there is any way I can help, just ask :)

Exactly, this. I'm getting logged out after about 10 mins. Been like this for a week.
Maybe something to do with cookie expiration or session duration in phpBB?

Edit: it just happened even writing this short reply.

Sorry to hear this Steve, I think it's all of our worst fear. Certainly mine. I've got more fire extinguishers in my garage than the local fire brigade, once this plastic goes up it really goes. As an experiment a little while ago I lit a small pot of left over GRP resin in the back garden and it went up like nothing I've seen and burnt for ages.

By the sounds of things the damage is quite bad, we all hope you can get back on the road soon and remember to shout if you need anything. There are lots of us on here with differing skill sets. My specialism is making tea but I'm sure there are others out there a bit more useful with the spanners.

Will your insurance company help? Good luck.

After much thinking, ive decided to break the car up, there was a lot of do I rebuild, or break it up

One of the main reasons, but there were actually a few !
Was, would I feel safe in the my car again and the resounding answer was NO I would not, as having a serious fire, three feet in front of you, in an open top car, and strapped in tightly doing about 40mph, was not something I EVER want to be in that situation again

So, I am now looking for something to go in the garage, to fill the void, once ive disassembled the car for what is saleable

Already, down the tip is a lot of burnt crap, plus the alui bonnet, as to heavily damaged to repair, and well misshaped, and the nose cone, that resembled a marsh mellow, and would not of been any use to anyone
And now that that stuff has gone, I actually feel a little more positive, as its not my car in the garage anymore, just bits

steve
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

Nice to here from you Steve, as you know we are all gutted for you and feel your pain. The main thing is you are ok and you seem from your post a lot more possitive about your next project ?? Hope all the saleable bits go quickly and you get your new project underway soon.
