I'm very impressed (as usual ) fixing the gearbox does look a tricky job!
I'm on my second diff that leaks from the pinion end. I just keep topping it up and don't visit people with nice driveways It has done 35,000 miles dripping and only needs 20ml top up every 1500, so it can stay where it is

Nice one Steve, good job. Shouldn’t have any issues with the three bond, default crankcase sealant for a number of manufacturers including Subaru. Stays elastic, though any oozing doesn’t break off and cause problems. A bit over kill on a bendover V8 oil slick, but works well.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Happy to lend a hand mate if you fancy tackling yours. Cost you a jar of honey though!
Yep, is quite a hassle. Leave it until it really needs doing. Mine was starting to leave a quite a puddle
Interesting that it was not the seal itself leaking though. If I'd known that I wonder if I could have done it with the diff still in place? Dunno... the pinion shaft flange nut was bloody tight! I had to borrow an impact wrench to undo.
Thanks Beef. Yeah, I read that many of the bike manufactures own brand sealants such as 'Suzuki Bond' and 'Yamabond' are made by Threebond.
Thanks Neil. I've been out for an hour or so but nothing major.
Any track days planned? That's next on my list.

Great write up Steve, shame you didn't persevere with the video's they were very good as you could actually see what you were talking about. Anyway glad its all back together, just need to get some miles on it.
