So what’s this for then?

Postby Weathers » Thu Jan 24, 2019 8:30 am

There are two lugs on the rear of my car underneath the chassis with the appropriate cut outs in the bodywork.

Pictures to show what I mean.

Are they for a diffuser? I didn’t know they were there until I was under the car trying to undo the seat bolts.

If they are for a diffuser does that then mean that Westfield intended, perhaps as an option, to fit one on this model of car then? Didn’t know they made one. I have the FW bonnet but the “normal” rear clam.

Thanks chaps

They're for the spare wheel carrier.

Ahhhhhhhhh thanks Steve. Still think they want a carbon fibre diffuser attaching to them! :D

Chris,
On the rear of my car you can see where the spare wheel carrier slots in, not that I have one.

My diffuser is held on with two bonnet pins that are bolted through a chassis triangulation plate under the tank, the leading edge slots under a strip of ally attached to the floor. Takes seconds to remove it for easy access.

Thanks. I’ll have to have a look Kenton next time we’re out on a run.

Sounds simple yet effective. Which is exactly what is needed in these situations.
