Re: My winter project
I have already cleaned and replaced the pressure relief valve and even tried adding a couple of washers behind the spring to up the pressure. When I connected up a pressure gauge it took ages to get pressure up but once it had it held good pressure. So I’m thinking either oil pump or maybe pick up pipe slightly blocked or something, hopefully I’ll soon have the answer to what is causing it

Re: My winter project
I did think about it but Becky is determined to have it as her first car so I’m going to stick with the 998

I’ve only got the one on the go and we was using it till I stripped it although I do have some bits I’d like to get done on the MK aswell but that can wait for a while

Re: My winter project
Today I went and got the new panels, windscreen and a few other bits for the car and I’ve just had a little while outside splitting the engine and gearbox mainly to make it lighter to lift so I can take it up to my dads as he was looking for a project and is going to strip and rebuild the engine for me while I do the bodywork. Once I’d opened it up the inside wasn’t sludged up and looked fairly clean so it will need more investigation into the oil pressure problem.

Re: My winter project
Managed to get a bit more time in the garage today. Tidied up the front wing to front panel joins to trial fit the front panel up and make sure it all lines up, which it did better than the original panel. Then cut off the passengers side front wing and found a bit more rust under there which should be easy enough to plate up while the wing is off

Re: My winter project
Then trial fitted the new front wing on with the front panel and it all lines up nicely, better than the drivers side which isn’t quite right on one edge. The more I look at it the more I’m thinking I should replace the drivers side wing aswell, it’s got a load of small dents in it and has been welded on badly anyway ( it’s come off on the front edge )
