There was some left but I gave that to Kev, this was a can of hammerite I had kicking about so I thought I’d use it up.
I expect the progress on the car will slow up a bit once my work gets back to normal next week and all the school runs start again

Managed to get a couple of hours on it today so trimmed out the rust on the inner wings and plated them back up (there’s 2 lines of weld as I overlapped them and welded both sides) and plated up the hole in the scuttle panel which will just need a little polish off on the weld and a small wipe of filler to finish it

I’ve managed to get a little bit more welded up it’s just got one awkward bit at the top to finish, but also poked at a rough looking bit and made another hole  Oh well, I might aswell make a good job of it while the wing is off and it’s easy to get to.

Had a small break from the mini today and fitted some new cams to the Mk instead. The car does go better but I still need to tweak the carbs etc and sort a oil leak I’ve now got from the cam cover ( yes I know I should have bought a new rubber gasket  )

I always fit a new gasket as on my engine, if the cam cover leaks it could get onto the timing belt.

Great work with the welding :)

All I managed to do today was change the wheel cylinders in the rear brakes of our C1, bloody cold working in the road today. Roll on the road trip season 8-)

I’m planning on spending most of the day tomorrow on the mini, I’ll be in the garage with the heater on

Spent a few hours on the car today, finished plating up around the passenger side wheel arch and boxing in under corner of the scuttle panel. Bolted on the front panel and clamped to existing wing to give a set point for the new wing and fitted the new wing, so that's one side all welded. It will all be undersealed once I've finished all the welding I'll do both sides in one hit. Took the front panel back off out of the way and cut off the other front wing and removed a few bits to reveal the horror beneath, it's pretty much the same as the other side but a bit worse. Also helped my dad put the engine back onto the gearbox so he can carry on rebuilding that now. Here's a few pics
