I am contemplating a new car next year.
Its hard to find answers online..
Anyone know what 7 type cars other than caterham and westy have very good oppertunities for adjustible suspension.
Mnr vortex looks good and also the MK looks good.. Anyone know of the weights of both cars in race form?
Be good to get peoples views on whats lightweight and adjustable and able to take a hyabusa turbo.
That said... I think mines going to be up for sale next year.

Re: Which car?
Don’t dismiss the GBS zero Lee, if I wanted something very light, very strong and fully adjustable for the type of thing your doing I’m not sure I would look at anything else!!
Interested in your turbo Busa plans by the way

Re: Which car?
What does the gbs weigh without box and engine? Roughly obviously.
I dont have a plan right now but the busa turbo cars at the events make my hair stand up on end.. So i want one.
If i sell the tiger il have enough funds around mid march april for a stripped 7 rolling (race spec) chassis and a decent busa engine.. Nothing outragoues but about 200-250 would be good.
Im going to visit the jedi factory around december to see what they can offer.

Re: Which car?
Does it have to be a 7, Lee ?
As if I was to ever buy another kit car, I would be looking at a Fury style of car, much more practical than my 7

Re: Which car?
Not strictly a 7 but one of the Andy Bates' cars like the Arion or Sabre? No idea what pricing is like. As you've noted the MNR Vortx could be worth looking into. On the cheaper end of the scale you could probably get something competitive with a Striker. Have you discounted a Westy? That's a well trodden path as I'm sure you know, probably loads of advice out there on how to set them up well.

Re: Which car?
Having owned a MK Indy previously (Black n Chrome sporting a 2l Pinto) and currently owning a MK Indy with a 2l Twin cam sierra and also a Sylva Phoenix with a redtop my opinion is as follows.
The MK's are nice, they handle well and are very predictable but personally i don't find them very inspiring or comfortable, but, with the right engine i'm sure they are a bloody riot.
The Sylva has a whole lot more going for it, i feel a bit more protected from the elements and often, i feel like I can drive the car on the limits of my ability without going silly fast, i.e. I can comfortably slide the rear end a little if i choose to and I can just a quickly correct it to stop the slide, I guess what I'm saying is I can feel more of what the car is doing and get a better understanding of what I need to do to control it. I never felt that with either Indy

My greatest fear is my wife selling my car parts when I die for what I told her they cost

Speak to Kevin Finch (he’s a member but hasn’t been along for a while). He is on Facebook. He’s got an Andy Bates Fireblafe Fury that weights nowt!
Pic here. If he still has it he wanted peanuts for it.
