As previously mentioned I have been having issues with the driver's side arm rest area where I had bent the Ali panel round, I had tried to fill the area but whenever i put the side panel off and on there was far too flex and it had cracked so was time to remove what I could and try the Ali welding stuff I picked up previously at car show.
The demonstrator needs to give me some lessons.
Had to patch up some holes and put in new pieces to attach to and now seems far more stable . Another skim of filler and a bit of smoothing and looking far better.
I will be covering this area that is usually well used with a removable pad but good to know it is now sorted.

Just a little bit of work in the garage this evening, been putting this one off for a while exspecting it to be a mare
The carbon effect light pods have long since seen better days and after realising the ones kindly donated by Tony H are 7'' compared to my 5 3/4 something had to be done.
After contacting a couple of kit car suppliers and eBay watching it seems pods alone that match up with my LED units are not to be had so armed with my new favourite tool, the flat block and 80 grit Velcro strip I attacked the carbon effect with gusto and then with 320 to smooth it out and then the rest of the bits for the same attention till I got to a reasonable standard about ready for some filler primer
Took about 90 mins so far easy to see where the time goes and still got the other one to start as well

i had not really given it much though Neil, my default would have been satin black rattle can but looking how the black ring had already suffered chips having been on there 2/3 years and that was painted at home i could do with some thing more durable.
being that it is brass i cannot use my DIY powder coat

Wouldn’t the film from hydrodripping it still suffer from stone chips? Not sure as I’ve never used it

You may not like the look, but my stainless lights are fine after 8 years and nearly 40,000 miles. I saw a Caterham less than 2 years old with the black lights and there was a rust streak on one of them.

Interesting choice, what swayed you to an ME22?
