Cheers guys, yes getting that way Colin I have a week at work then off for a week with a couple of distractions planned in what is meant to be a kit car week. Be great to see it on the ground and running by the end of that even If some of the bits will still be temp by then like the hoses as want to hock up a temp set and maybe get some nice Silocon on ones made or brought.
Neil you will know yourself from your previous kit car build and rebuilds and now your race car, does make you realise what goes into the whole project from chassis construction right through to car running.
Apart from always having to be steps ahead with planning parts and delivery the time it swallows actually on the car just flys by and have to make a conscious decision with any spare time if its to be garage, family or friend time.
Rich.

Can’t wait for the sprint finish!

Keep up the good work. I’m still impressed you’ve kept going for so long. Hats off to you.

Managed to get the engine and gearbox in, secured and hoist all tucked away this morning.
Started to secure some of the add ons like the prop shaft.

Liked the battery powered jet wash, so much smaller that my one, which never gets used as it's a PITA to get it out! Good to see the engine and gearbox assembled :-)
Yes I've been drinking, what of it!!

Making the most of the time off to work on Eleanor, apart from taking the other half to work for 5am, after a nap and helping a mate to bodge up a 2.8 transit conversion I managed a few hrs this afternoon till now on the car.
Progress is a little slow as a normal engine change means simply refitting what was taken off, I’m still making or finishing small pieces like the alternator bracket, tensioner and fuel pressure gauge adjuster bracket , the later that was made but only floating in the breeze in the mock up months ago.
Here is where I should have known better as not having the brake pipes In the master cylinder when I thought out the fuel pressure gauge adj bracket location meant after bending and flaring the brake pipe and screwing into m/c earlier It started dawn on me.
With the fuel pipe, injector wiring, brake pipes, servo vacuum pipes and the formentioned fuel pressure adj bracket all fighting for the same space (umm maybe I should have junked the servo ), so took some time to make a new fuel adj bracket to move it a bit, twiddle this and twisted that and it all seems to be getting there.
Also fitted the exhaust manifold and box but need a better 55mm U clamp.
I have taken the mocked up fuel pipe between filter and pump to take to a mate to see if he can make one up in metal as I changes from 10 to 12mm, but in theory that and some fuel and a sanity check I could see if I could get a tune out of it.
Still no radiator fitted but would be okay to run for a few minutes soon.
Taking make car to Dicks for mot tomorrow (mate has a few health issues) , so have a shopping list for Halfords and mock up to deliver tomorrow to get something achieved.
Soon be time to get some more stuff out the loft
Rich.
