Well that was less painfull then I thought, quite a good day.
Managed to sort out most of the underdash connection plugs between dash and car, especially the routing of the cables as managing to use some P clips on the back of the existing bulkhead fixings to hold most of the cables out of view of the occupants.
Finished packing washers in the trailing arms spherical bearing, loctited the nuts for them, the lanard rod, the rear shocks and did them up FT.
Fitted the missing lower shock bolt on pass side, all 3 braised brakes hoses and connected to the metal brake pipes.
Tried some packing washers on the aero and not happy with the fitment but do not want to do them too tight.

Been putting some thought to this Steve, the nose cone and bonnet are not finished with the clear coat and polishing yet as have no where to store them when completed apart from on the car, so they will get done when engine and box is in an running.
Once that is done and all together have to decide it I want to do a walk round review video or keep it cloak and dagger a bit longer till maybe my first run out !

Spent this morning making a jig to bolt into the nose cone from the back, so I can then either fit the main shaft in a vice to allow me to flat and then polish the clear coat.
Or if needed I can make a floor stand to sit the main shaft in.
Made it out of bits of old chassis and the trial spray piece I was using
Then a coat of primer and satin black to hide my messy welding.
Need to also reduce the depth of the spray booth by half so I can move some bits away from the car so I can think about fitting the arches and spare wheel carrier.

I Did in this case consider if I could do the flatting and polishing with the nose cone fitted to the car but as it only the bottom hinge, the fact the top is held in position by looping over the headlight supports and the bonnet being done up and in place and knowing the forces the polisher creates as it basically a slow speed grinder with a different head on it but twice the weight and laying on my back or knees was asking to catch an edge and fook it up.
I can report after a further workshop session the jig works great as managed to flat approx 1/3 of the nose cone in 90 mins.

The jig gave me a chance to break out the welder after quite a break.

Still can't understand the bizzare statement in my early days of Skcc that I am more a builder than a driver :D

As far as what to do with all the spare time, the garages could do with a clear out and plenty of garden and house stuff to do.

Tell me about it Rich, same here - much prefer playing with power tools than, doing chores. Thinking the best way/motivation for me to tidy the garages might be to paint the walls, stick in suspended ceilings and lighting.....think with that in mind i might just get my backside in gear.

Did some surgery on the spray booth today, needed more space to move around the car and as I only have three items that require the spray booth now and they can't be fitted till more is done on the car it was time to remove the smaller front section, Including relocating the fans and lighting.
Did not take long to fill the space afterwards though, but at least I can crack on.
