I salute your determination Rich. I'm nithered just reading the thread.
How much more do you have to do before it can all be stripped for paint?

Have you decided on a colour scheme rich or is that the secret part to this thread?

Finished the removal of the side indicators and spent hrs on sorting out the bonnet fixings.

I am going to try and start it again with a new ECU yet to be ordered.
And temp wire everything up to make sure wiring loom is all good before it gets removed.
Have some cracking issues with the new side panels to sort out with some more Ali solder welder stuff.
Then I could think about removing the engine and gearbox, make new brake pipes whilst bay is empty and finish the welding of stuff added since last session once chassis is bare.
Waiting on some new bits and still have loads of stuff to repair, or prep for paint, so never shirt or work to do.
I tried the spreadsheet thing and massively underestimated things, the roll cage has and continues to be a time killer, should really put it to one side and finish it after car is on the road.
The car will clearly not be ready for the road trip so I have given up on any deadline but still continue to spend any practical time I can out there when she not nagging me.
Ideally want to repair everything, then final paint or spray, ( have a cunning plan baldric for a pop up spray booth ).
Then refit it all or items on the car will get covered in sanding dust as I prep and paint others.
Rich.

Re: Locost ''Eleanor'' Rebuild
Is it worth investigating the powder coating route Rich? I know K paid around £200ish and I’m not sure painting is going to be much cheaper by the time you’ve prepared it all? Only a thought?

Re: Locost ''Eleanor'' Rebuild
Work continues on multiple items this afternoon, we have primer going on the front roll cage after layers of filler primer and rubbing down.
More fettling work going on the bonnet.
Have some new nose cone indicators (could not find any LEDs I liked)
The new ones have a smaller internal support tube so had to apply more fibreglass to fill the hole, redrilling and has now had a coat of filler I am rubbing down.

Re: Locost ''Eleanor'' Rebuild
Few more hrs in garage today, few more things fettled.
Have finished the fitment of the bonnet latches/brackets.
On the passengers side of the engine bay where the exhaust hooks over the top chassis rail, this means the subsequent bonnet strip has to be cut meaning there was quite a lot of bonnet movement possible under firm finger pressure, as can be seen below so I have drilled and tapped the top chassis rail through the panel and reused the home made bonnet locating pins removed from the previous front end.
This lined up with already drilled hole in bonnet and now restricts the sideways movement possible on the bonnet.
