So before Xmas I took the car to a local car upholstery place to get an idea on prices for a bikini top, split torneo and boot cover,
Knew it would a bit out the norm due to the closeness of the side roll bar and the front hoop being wider than the rear.
got a quote back a few days later and agreed to get in touch after Xmas.
Left it till about March to save up some wonga, went and paid a deposit and left it with them just before Stoneleigh and had the call as expected this afternoon that all was ready.
So took a drive there after work and after a chat and exchange of cash I was on the way home with the roof on to check for any ballooning but no real chance to open her up.
Reasonably happy with the result might need a couple things tweaking.
Always nice to get it back in the garage, chance to tackle a few more things.

Re: Locost ''Eleanor'' Rebuild
So with the car safely back in the garage and raining outside meaning I can’t do any work on a mates transit it is time to have another play with the kit car carbs to see if I can delve into the rough running at low revs.
Bit of U tube desperation searching and chats with folk suggests it worth looking at the idle jet circuit and idle jet sizes.
So having a scrap pair of carbs that I got after a carb fire
I had them both on the bench and although the idle jets in both sets are marked the same (35) the ones in the scrap carbs look a fraction bigger which I think is going the wrong way I think I may need smaller one but as it is a cost free exercise I have swapped them out and also set all the bleed screws to 3 turns out as a datum and put it all back in last night with a good initial start up followed by some very rough reving that decided to leave well alone for the sake of the neighbours and my lungs given I could not open the garage doors or push it outside. So hoping for but not expecting some improvement when I get a chance to do some twiddling in a few days.

Hi Rich, don't forget to get a good starting point using the colourtune device to see what each test shows. It will let you know how each plug is burning the mixture so you can then decide which way to try next.

So after a pop, bang, fizz and fart journey on the 5 mile journey to and back from the pagient and a chat with the experts there I have decided to try and refit the injection system back on starting with stripping off the old carbs and manifold.
