good going there Rich, at this rate we'll see you AND the car back out before too long!

BTW - maybe you know already, but that epoxy 2 pack paint can be sprayed...obvs has to be thinned a bit more than painting it on, but if i were ever doing a full refresh, think i'd whack 4-5 coats of that on with a sprayer.

any further thoughts about power plant?
liked the suggestions that Russ/Duncan had....a nice reliable 150bhp ish would be good somehow?

Cheers Guys, looking forward to another session tonight after work.

@ Mark, i was thinking about that but also giving it a good coating with Etch Primer first, reason being in some places the two pack has not taken and come off as flakes as not had a good key.

More than likely Zetec on carbs, if i can get hold of an old set up.
Rich.

Rich the reason I powdercoated mine was to get the whole chassis shot lasted clean! Saved a huge clean up job and gave me peace of mind that it was good to go. May be worth speaking to someone about having it blasted so you can paint the epoxy straight on?

2 and 1/2 hr session this evening tackling some more of the paint removal. I can see this is going to be a task and half but going to persevere rather have to arrange and pay for shot blasting.
But I do have a DIY lost media shot blaster to try out on hard to get to bits later on.
Think I have got my monies worth out the one in the grinder and time to change it.

For those who have never used these brushes that I am doing so so as to only remove the paint and surface rust ( and not good metal) they give up their wires ready over time so a full face Shield is a must and my clothes resembled a hedgehog at the end, so not for the fainthearted.
Hoping that working up a sweat as I have tonight might burn off the fathers day meal and desert.

Despite having a face mast and shield on this is dirty work

I know blacksmiths who think those wire brushes in an angle grinder are the most dangerous tool they own! I had one fire its wires through a leather apron and cotton shirt and still stick in my stomach enough to draw blood.......

Good going rich. Have you tried getting a quote for shot blasting? I think it will surprise you how cheap it is, then just bring the chassis back and spray that epoxy paint - you need a special gun for the thickness which I’ve got and your welcome to borrow if you want (assuming you’ve got a compressor)

If you do the diy shot blasting then don’t cheat by using dried sand otherwise it puts a silicon coating over the metalwork apparently which the paint doesn’t like!!

Keep the updates coming....
