Bloody hell Richard you have been busy! Yeah, I don't think that chassis looks too bad at all.
At least now you can rebuild it / rewire it knowing better how you want to use it. Yeah I'd vote for a more modern engine on injection but as you say, it does widen the scope of the project quite a bit.
Pax ride available on future Sunday runs!

Re: Locost ''Eleanor'' Rebuild
Good luck for a swift rebuild. I've just rewired and fitted modular fuse box from CBS. It's far from cheap, but allows all of the wiring logic to be done on the underside of the panel. Essential to plan the wiring before starting to plug in the terminals as the smaller ones are very difficult to remove. Don't ask how I know.

Re: Locost ''Eleanor'' Rebuild
whilst interest is still high, came how from work in afternoon and decided to stick the chassis on a skate board, wheel it outside and Gunk it and then jet wash it.
Then found the TOOL and fitted the wire brush atatchment, ready for some fun, might as well let the neighbours know what they are in for
This was one of the areas i had concerns over
coming up okay

The red oxide , spray paint and various coats of epoxy seem to have lasted quite well thus far so more than likely again, but a long way off yet

Great thread and good luck with it all, you may want to edit the post that says 'came home from work to Junk the chassis' though

Yep ..... That's stripped.
Looks in really good condition though, just a little surface roughness. I'm going to have to bite the bullet & de-panel the Fury at some point. Hope it's that good when I do.
