Re: Remembrance Run 12th Nov
Home, thawing out after an initially wet start then chilly. Slight rush this morning as James decided he wanted a lift into work, after complaining my car was too slow at Snetterton, showed him how quick it could go in the rain and how much rain stings at speed. He’s getting the bus home. Good breakfast at the chalet, nice bubble. Good to catch up with Tony et al. Nice ceremony by the memorial. Made to feel welcome by the locals. Pleased I made the effort and managed to get there for the first time. Thanks to Mark for a cracking idea, long may it continue.

Re: Remembrance Run 12th Nov
Always a privilege to attend this event. Very emotional when the vicar reads out the names of those from the village who lost there lives in the two great wars and the Bartalott family has three names read out over two wars! You can only imagine the grief.
Good to see everyone today.

Re: Remembrance Run 12th Nov
guys so gutted to have missed this. after dropping the wreath with Duncan at Edenbridge it was back to bedfordshire to try to shake this bug.
anyway on the way home I heard a poem by a 4 year old about WW1.
' We wait, we wait,we wait
we fight, we fight , we fight,
...we die.'

Re: Remembrance Run 12th Nov
Get well soon Mark, and well done for leaving your sick bed to bring us the wreath.
Had a nice run to breakfast, and a good turn out of members made for a nice chat at the Chalet. Traffic and slippery roads helped me keep up in my C1 . I did feel guilty in my warm hatchback after everyone got soaked on the way to the start.
There was a much bigger group of locals this year, which was nice to see and the sun had come out. The vicar has two churches and told us it was Stopham's turn this year. Thanks for organising again Mark, it is a good way to show our respect and gratitude to the fallen soldiers.

Re: Remembrance Run 12th Nov
once again a sombre occasion , well attended by skcc & the villagers .
as neil said very sad when the vicar reads the names of those lost
in both WW1 & WW2.
i noticed this year that the first villager to lay a wreath was
not in uniform this year, as previous years, and if i remember correctly
he is a member of the bartelot family who lost most family
members from that little village.
my thanks to mark ,richard & duncan for obtaining the wreath
and for collecting donations.
with moving home i was very pushed for time this year
but hope tobe back in the saddle next year.
