well another skcc adventure over,
we did get a little damp as Linda has said, but all in all
a great time on great roads with fantastic scenery,
we had an encounter with 4 road closures in one day,
and in trying to find my way around them
(i had lost contact with everyone else)
i thought i had cracked it after going down a single track "road"
and negotiating the mud patch at the bottom (deep it was !!)
i found a good little lane and traveled about 2 miles when i came
across a team of guys doing road works and could not get passed,
there were no road closed signs at this one either,
one of the guys gave me directions to get passed all the closures,
excellent chap,
but i had to go through the mud patch again, and after getting to kielder water
i spent 30 mins removing the mud from the side screens and rear arches
just so i could get in and see out and not get covered any more with mud.
thankyou all for making an adventure great, for the banter , laughter and fun.
you are lovely people.
roll on wales in september

Good pictures guys :)

I've been looking through mine and somehow I missed Brian's car almost completely. Sorry Brian, it wasn't deliberate.

Duncan, did you notice that on day one they stopped at the same tiny café we had breakfast in? --- spooky!

I hadn't noticed that, what a coincidence!
The breakfast was very good and decent value too :)

You mean on the one with the chairs outside overlooking the cobbledy "square", with two other cafes and a pub opposite - but that was about it, we couldn't work out what else was really there? We almost went in the "craft centre", but they didn't do breakfasts. Cakes and sandwiches/lunches. Apparently they make a conscious decision not to overlap. Very civilised! But, we wanted bacon, so the little cafe it was

right then
having received my credit card statement this morning i found that premier inn inverness (yes the most expensive one) had charged me an extra £125:00.
and when contacted i was told that the £125 was for a room listed as "no show"
ie: no one turned up to take the room.
however when we arrived at this prem inn on the afternoon of the 14th june we were told of a booking for an extra room ,
(this was a mistake by the prem inn head office booking dept, who had made other mistakes which i found out about when cancelling rooms for those who dropped out 6 weeks before the trip start date,)
the receptionist was explained too about this and cancelled the room...no charge. , now head office have overruled that cancellation and charged the £125 cost of the room to my card and will not refund it.
some of you may know i had other cash troubles on the trip and am now an additional £125 out of pocket.

That's not on Graham. Can't have that.

I'll send you, what, £15 to cover my share so you're not out of pocket.

I'm happy to ring up head office again for you and have a discussion about the cancellation being rejected if you like.

As discussed, happy to make a contribution as well. Will be trying to avoid Premier Inn's for 2017, out of principle of nothing else! Not good.

Yep, I'll pay a share if it's not resolved. How can hed office over-rule a decision made in front of the customer? Do we need to log on to Trip Advisor?
