I got mixed advice re fire extinguishers and first aid kit, the RAC says they're optional for France, I have the first but not the second...........

Would also recommend you take your European Health Insurance Card, too late now if you haven't got one, but if you do want one in the future make sure you get it for free, see http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcare ... ction.aspx

In one of the roadtrip write ups in CKC mag recently the guy recommended a Toll Tag, I got one for my recent trip to the med, best thing ever, straight through the tolls no stopping on most of them others just stop for a second or two, must have saved an hour from Calais to Lyon via Paris (peak period) Be great for the lemans trip, no unbuckling messing about etc, google Sanef for details. You pay a slight premium for rental, maximum 10 euro's a year if used, but so worth it IMO.

When we did Lemans last year , we were advised to take photo copys of all the v5 mot ins etc, and only those when asked to the police

Also in France, not sure of other countries, you have to have at least two unused breathalizers kits
