Shame it took so long to get here,
Weather was good to us
Show was quite small compared to other years but worth coming,
Good catch up and Lots of banta into the night
Thanks for organising

Re: Stoneleigh 2021
Really good weekend, meet with Matt, Jason, then picked up Kev and Tony enroute to Newlands to meet the rest of the gang that had travelled up or starting from there.
Route up was great,( thanks Richard) , we hit some traffic to be expected as a later start meaning we got split into a few groups Neil headed up alone and Tony H and Kev decided to tackle the Reading festival traffic why the rest of us decided to hypnotise the locals at the garden centre (breckie stop) who looked at us as if we were aliens.
This is where most of us found out that Jason had some issues and was having to get recovered, such a shame.
Once some managed to eat we carried on as we likes with a couple more few stops for fuel.
Upon getting to the site me and Duncan found our way to the plot to find Tony and Kev already there.
Rest of the runners arrived within next half hour so once we were all there we set up the area with the banner, gazebo, flags etc before we took a walk round the site and halls.
The whole affair was on a much smaller scale than previous for obvious reasons, but was great to get out and about, see faces, cars and buy some consumables.
During the evening much banter and giggles ensued, food was cooked and consumed with a few beers and wine.
The dancing girls came and went,Steve joined use with his car on the trailer as planned after his successfull track day.
Most got some shut eye of a fashion over night and breakfast was served for all that wanted it before most packing was done ahead of a final tour of the site for a couple more goodies before we left the site nice and clean in our groups, some heading via the route home once again supplied by Richard.
Def on the cards for next year as a group event, bigger and better I hope.
Thanks one and all for a great time.
Rich.

Re: Stoneleigh 2021
I only just arrived in time at the Buck Barn start so I was last to arrive, sorry! Richard had done a great job on the routes, because we arrived at Newlands just before the others arrived:
It was the largest SKCC get together for years, it was really nice to start off as a big group even if we all knew it couldn't last. Soon after the start we lost Jason who had engine problems, I hope you're out again soon, your car looked great while I was following.
The breakfast venue served good food, unless you were Tony, in which case they suddenly decided not to do any more breakfasts after taking everyone elses order!
We arrived at stoneleigh to find a lone three wheeler on our plot, when he returned to find himself surrounded he somehow resisted the urge to join and moved his car!
Special mention to Kev, and Matt for bringing flags and gazebo which made the site much more welcoming.
Tony S did a great job deep frying ( ) the bacon burgers we had for starters.
Richard had done a brilliant job on the chilli and we all had plenty to eat and drink........
The late evening entertainment was provided by the saga of Hugo and the lost phone. Loads of banter, Steve arrived from Blyton, and Robert from the Quantum club and Rogue Runners joined us for a drink and dinner.
Good to see Neil, shame you missed teh breakfast and had to go early, I hope Carfest was good today
Here are some photos of our stand:
The show was busier Sunday morning, very few stands, but a lot of owners had made the effort and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
It was a brilliant weekend, to be honest if we'd just stopped in a random field it would have been nearly as good, and I hope we do the same next year

Re: Stoneleigh 2021
Yes, I had a good day as short as it was - I really don't remember it taking that long to get up there but I guess I must have used more motorway last time.
I started off with everyone else but when everyone stopped for fuel, I didn't need any but couldn't find anywhere to stop and wait - I drove for miles before I realised that when I did need fuel, no one else would so I'd be on my own anyway. Decided to just carry on and 2 mins later, a nice, big layby finally popped up
Anyway, got to Stoneleigh earlier than the others but I was always going to park up on the RHOCAR stand as I'm a committee member for that club (sorry, I'm a club tart).
The main hall was disappointing but I guess understandable in these times. Still loads of clubs and a decent turnout of kits:
I had to leave early to go to CarFest on Sunday (that was great as well) which was depressing - as I was leaving, the beers were out and it looked like being a good evening.
Got road-raged by some bum in a Daewoo Matiz on the way home - he didn't like the slow speed I was doing over the speed humps through a town, so he 'roared' past me and then started brake-testing me . Apart from the fact I was doing 5mph anyway to get over some bloody huge speed bumps so brake-testing me wasn't exactly slowing me down, it's difficult to do road rage in a Matiz
A great weekend overall... good to see some real people for a change.
