Day 5 - as usual on the last day it was a bit subdued over breakfast, but the cars were packed & warmed up, cleared of condensation & we headed out along the road we came in on yesterday, there was less traffic, but what there was was going our way - slowly. After a couple of miles we turned up onto the moors & had some good driving miles.

We stayed mostly off the main roads & were soon in England, there was one oops when I locked a wheel behind GB - mostly because the road surface on the centreline had little grip & the car came to rest without issue - or expense!

Up until this point we had kept more or less together, but after the fuel stop The Elises got ahead, I was bringing up the rear until two lanes merging put me ahead of the sevens. After a couple of roundabouts there was no sign of them, I think there was a "SatNav divergence", but I rumbled along safe in the knowledge that were were stopping in Bourton-on-the-Water.
When I got there it ws rammed people getting in some pre-Lockdown II sunshine, I went through the village & tried to make contact, The Elises were prked up ahead, the sevens had got parked behind. I went back & forth but couldn't find either group, so headed home feeling a little sad that it had kind of fizzled out, rather than having a proper end.

BUT

Another EPIC tour, good company, good roads, excellent weather (sunburnt in Wales - in September!) & we pretty much avoided the Covid restrictions too.

Yup, a great trip all round (even if I only lasted half of it) - many thanks to Graham for organising, to Duncan for a great new route and an encyclopedic knowledge of anything Lotus, Steve for gassing us with vape at every stop (I kept thinking I was smelling flowers), Rob for staying with me when I went wrong, Tony for showing us what you can actually do with just 70bhp, Roger for helping me with my diet by never stopping for food and Linda, for still having one of the neatest kits I have ever seen.

Thanks all - see ya next year :-)

You've summed us up quite well there
Especially Roger the merciless, who doesn't stop for toilet breaks let alone food
