Well here we are on the penultimate day, nipped into Belgium to find a bed for the night and ended up with a swimming pool, steak night and only 250 miles to the Chunnel tomorrow- so far we have only racked up about 80 miles of motorway in total and I have to say this trip has been one of the best

The heat for the first couple of days was hard work but from Monday it’s been bearable so I’m not convinced it’s the heat that’s fried the cars, mine and Ks have behaved today and the electrical gremlins seem to have disappeared

Chris, the 2nd gear issue may not be the gearbox, it’s fine under moderate acceleration but if I floor it it jumps as though the full throttle blip system is killing it - obviously will need investigations

Today’s photos follow, spot the banquet that was from Lidl’s

I agree with that. This trip is really up there as a contender for the best one. Great weather, no traffic and a good mix of accommodation. Today we crossed Germany taking in some of the black forest recognising some of the roads and villages from Mark's previous trips. Slightly ahead of schedule we pressed on over the French countryside with a hop over the border to Belgium to a campsite with a pool. Home for the night.

Oh dear, only 100 miles from the tunnel and the unreliable V8 has broken down twice and used 4 times more petrol than me T this stage

Wheel bearing is knackered so hopefully these very friendly french guys can fix it
