Thanks for organising Graham and well done to all those who came, particularly Jason, Kev, Matt and Brian in their Sevens.

The locals seemed to be pleased to see us again, and they had reduced in number, so it wouldn't have been very well attended without us.

to me

Dear Lotus Drivers Club/SKCC,

I would like to thank you for your contribution of £105 to the Poppy Appeal.

The Royal British Legion was founded by veterans after the First World War. A century on from the start of that conflict, we are still helping today’s Service personnel, veterans, and their families in almost every aspect of daily life. We also champion Remembrance, safeguarding the memory of those who have given their lives for our freedom through Remembrance education and events. The Poppy Appeal is the major source of revenue for the Royal British Legion and every penny donated makes a difference to the lives of our beneficiaries.

help for heroes
Thank you Lotus Driver Group/SKCC for all your efforts and for the £145.00 Help for Heroes
has recently received!
My name’s Greg, and I’m one of the many thousands of veterans you’ve helped. Your
donation has also provided vital support to our families.
I was 19 when I went to the first Gulf War. There was a mixture of excitement, fear,
anticipation, and ‘let’s get the job done’. I also served in Northern Ireland and Bosnia. From
the age of 19 I’d seen a lot of bodies. After Bosnia I thought ‘I’ve done enough’.
After I left the Army, I was a frontline police officer for 25 years, before post-traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD) forced me to retire early.
PTSD caused merry hell with my life. The anxiety and heightened awareness came
absolutely drained, fatigued, and scared witless because of my memories from those wars.
If I walked to the shops, I’d be looking for snipers. It would take all my self-control not to dive
for cover. I’d come home dripping with sweat.
My recovery started when I was on a Help for Heroes course. Those courses gave me the
tools to reclaim my life from PTSD. I’ve now got the confidence to go out and work again. I’m
able to spend quality time with my family. What more could I ask for?
Your support has given me my life back. It’s given my wife her husband back and my kids
their Dad back. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

And Jason’s was having problems with his kit

Then we followed Matt to the Chalet
Quite lucky with the weather damp a few spots of rain
Had a few normal road closures which we tried to see if we could get through but with no luck
