Dax Rush weights

Postby AshleyO » Wed May 06, 2015 10:00 am

I have been asked by the VOSA, pre-IVA for the following information:
However, before we can proceed we require further information. Thank you for providing the gross vehicle weight, however we still need you to confirm the weights of axle 1 and axle 2.
I had guessed at 550Kgs, first time round, and looking at a Car performance Mag website, they talk about 520Kgs for a 1,900 cc engine, so maybe my guesstimate for a Rover 3.9L V8 is a bit light
Just spoken to the new owners, M A N Motorsport, and they put it at 1,110 Kgs (450 front, 550 rear), which id double. They did cover this by saying this is for the round tube frame rather than the square tube frame, but it is SO far different, this is not the reason. Does anyone have any relatively accurate measurements I can use for the application, esp if from a V8 3.9 Litre De Dion Rush, any other variants most accepted for background. Thanks

i can;'t help with info relating to a Rush - try PM'ing - Richard or DaxCos they have Rushs...
but FYI a Tiger is often listed at around 900/950 Gross weight, so the 1100 wouldnt be far out i imagine as a Rush is a fair bit heavier...

Unless you were fitting a pinto, I doubt you will go from 520kgs - 1110 Kgs
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

This would need checking, but if I remember right, the gross weight & axle weights are to do with the amount the car is legally allowed to carry, so there's no advantage in keeping the number low. You could use the weights off the donor as that's what the axles were designed to carry.

Like I said, it'd need checking.
