Anyone able to help?
The build manual states the Brake Master Cylinder is part number Girling 64068990. However, I can’t locate this part using that part number. Have tried to email Girling UK but for some reason the email form is not working. Have done a Google search but again no luck. It’s a dual circuit cylinder.
Any help appreciated as the current one is leaking, hence the poor brakes!

Have you tried a motor factors, generally they can cross reference part numbers?

Try past parts for getting the master cylinder re-sleeved

So, after many hours searching online and speaking to a number of suppliers of brake master cylinders, I finally managed to track down the original car these were used in - a Mk3 Ford Cortina, non servo type. Great, but then find no one, and I mean no one, supplies replacements anymore! I am finally resigned to rebuilding the existing MC when Paul at Powertrackbrakes emails me to say then have reproduction versions available and ready for dispatch! A few pounds lighter and a brand new MC will be with me on Friday. Thanks Pigeondave for the link to Powertrackbrakes.

@SpyderMan Now you know, go forth and spread the news to others who are having MC troubles

If you know the bore size, and approximate volume, you could use one off any other vehicle

What about asking on a Mk3 Cortina forum, as I would imagine some on has stock of these, or else we would never see them on the road

err, I havnt seen a mk3 Cortina for a while!

A quick search reveals they are also Lucas branded, and Morgans used them

Always best to check the condition of the bores first before buying the rebuild kit.
my ones were heavily pitted and so i went for a re-sleeve.
The Girling number on the side was nowhere to be seen on the net.

It was only through talking to powertrack brakes that i could get a steer on what i had. When I was told that they were difficult to get hold of when new, I knew that a re-sleeve was the easiest answer.

I could have gone Fiat but that has remote reservoirs which is no good for my application.

Currently been having fun sourcing a 13mm stubs at 85mm centres reservoir, as i cracked my one when putting it all back together.

Thanks for the kind offer. After a lot of pics and getting my mate AdiT involved, we (he)managed to figure out that the VW boys use a Volvo 240 reservoir as a straight swap.

So after ordering 2 (one was the 10mm model) I've got it sorted and now have a Fury with brakes. Just need an MoT and its off on Tour of The Alps 11 .
