Guys I am getting close to when I want to try to start my car with the new ME motorsport ECU, for this I need to load software to a laptop, my new works laptop is controlled by company so I cannot load new programmes / software, and have no need for my own modern machine as my works phone, ipad and laptop more than serve all my other purposes
Has any one got an old working windows PC that has outgrown it worth, I could have to use for this for a few quid.

what version of windows does the software need and how much 'puting power, i can see an old lappie across the office - but it is old and can't recall what OS it has ( plus not sure if i can find a charger for it )...
let me know what you need for OS etc....and then i'll check it.

Hi Richard,

No problems at all, you will need a laptop with windows 7 as minimum, 10 is preferred.

The software itself is not very intensive and doesn't require much 'puting power' so you should be okay on that front.

ah....will hunt for a charger, but am 95% sure that this old lappie is older than win7...prob has XP on it.

can't find a charger to fire it up, but looking at it again and wracking my memory - no way that is a win7 lappie....
i reckon you can get one on ebay for less than £30 as you arent bothered about spec....or worst ways see if anyone has an old pc, if you do i've got spare monitors you can have.

Sorry, I don't have anything suitable. Converted my old laptop to Linux to keep it going.

If it helps Rich, I can swing by with my laptop and see if we can get it running.
