Fisher Fury Le Mans for Sale

Postby Tony C » Sat Feb 23, 2019 11:50 am

I’ve had a slight change of heart re the Fury, another kit appealed after a few years Sprite ownership, but I’ve just not taken to the car. There is nothing wrong with the car in any respect and it’s just sailed through an MOT without a single advisory. So I’m going to put it up for sale. It’ll go on Pistonheads, but I thought I’d offer it here first. A few of you will know the car, originally running a Pinto its now sporting a 2 litre Zetec with Jenvey throttle bodies and Emerald ECU. The engine swap was carried out to a high standard by the Snodhurst crew and I’ve fettled a few things during my ownership including;
• Re-wired instruments
• Re-fitted seats
• Battery cut-out fitted
• Rally Design quick shift fitted
• ITG air filters
• Clutch cable
• Aluminium Catch tank
• New Comex 12” fan, new AdRad VW313 radiator and radiator fan switch.
• Offside side pod exhaust holes repaired with fibreglass both pods tidied/painted
• Bonnet wiring connector replaced.
• Westfield 5" silencer with cat – 1716052. .
• ETB Voltmeter, and oil pressure gauge
• Front suspension returned to original spec. All front ball joints replaced.
• Upper wishbones - new bushes and ferrules fitted.
• Rocker top tube shortened and spaced rearward to increase castor.
• Lower wishbone fitted with poly bushes.
• New 2.9 steering rack fitted. .
• Toyo R888R, plenty of tread left as little mileage since fitted

I’m looking for £8,000, which I think is a fair price for the car. I can supply more photos/answer any questions, and have receipts for the work I've done and the original build paperwork.

Eeerrrr.... that’s thrown a spanner in my works. What’s the score on the roll bar in terms of compliance, Is it MSA or anything like that?

Oh and did you ever get it mapped, rolling road etc?

Hi Rex,

I'm not sure if the roll bar is MSA spec, I guess it's the original Fisher roll bar, someone else may know, Tony H? I've not put the car on a rolling road, but based on the power it developed in the previous car it was installed in it should be good for 160-170bhp. I'll PM my mobile number to you, happy to answer any questions.

The engines out of my MK Indy Mike. I had it mapped and RR'd at Emerald and there is no reason why that mapping shouldn't still be applicable to the Fury. It mapped at 175bhp and 155lbs/ft of torque. The only difference is it has a different exhaust on the fury. So Tony's conservative figure is a wise compromise.

So what are you going to buy Tony?

Oh cool, Thanks. Did you get the Engine as a new crate Neil? What sort of mileage had it covert when it moved to TC’s car?

Mike.

Here's a review of my Indy which includes the engine details. The zetec had done approx 47000 miles in my Indy and yes it was a crate engine .

Doesn't look Motorsport UK (MSA as was) compliant, looks to be 38mm rather than the 50mm CDS which is required. Fury Sports Cars could make you a replacement in 50mm CDS I'm sure.

That's a Fisher road spec roll bar, the competition one is taller (to give head room for a helmet). it is triangulated & braced though so won't just fold over in a crash. It's also bolt-on so easy to replace if wanted. Equally the soft top frame won't fit over a competition bar, so swings & roundabouts.
