Great turn out, almost managed to get there without stopping, in the end surrendered to the Esso and the fan belt decided it didn't want to play anymore. Big thanks to Rich for stopping and giving a hand,..
You're a gent, thanks again.
Thanks to those that offered , SteveRST et al, and fookyou all who thought I was popping in the shop for 20 B&H and a few pies.
Better trip back, no stops for fuel or pies
Great to meet some new faces and new cars, (nice one Kenton and Phil)
Huge thanks to Mark for organising, Thank you.
Obligatory couple of arty images below..

Re: The Annual SKCC gathering - Tangmere
Good to catch up with you all today, thanks for organising Mark.
I'm still disturbed about Neil's proposal for an 'over 18' version of Blue Peter involving sticky backed plastic, but not as you'd normally expect it to be used
A good venue and nice to be able to park up, kick tyres and inspect fallen wildlife, you know who you are!

Mike, just look at today as a success
You got there, and home, a slipping fanbelt is not an issue
as for fuel .................
the lightning used less, and in combat

Re: The Annual SKCC gathering - Tangmere
Great day out guys.
Mine started early as usual as had to get car ready first as busy working on tin top yesterday changing the exhaust, then pop into work to pick up bits for a return leg delivery.
That put me in strange position to my designated start point of Edinbridge and my Tom Tom sorted me out a peach to ease me into it as not been out for a few weeks ( this route made me realise how much I enjoy the car and trips out ). Roads were a bit damp with dew.
Once planted at the caravan place and messing with gizmos I was soon joined by Jill and James and then a slow progression.
Once we all got going I settled on the tail end of the middle of the pack and had a cracking run with no dramas.
Nice to see so many at the breckie meet and a chance to gander at kentons new toy.
Also great to see Phil with a new stead.
Quick pit stop with Mike and his fan belt then stuck with him to make sure all was well so did not do the second route but I gather it did not disappoint. Sun came out to greet us all in the afternoon.
Venue was an interesting one, really surprising how small some of the cockpits on the planes were.
Great to have a chat to many and finished off with a hot dog with chilli sauce for lunch.
Last to leave after removing the club banner, after petrol stop my throttle cable snapped and always a bit of a trial on mine so had to dismantle part of the car on the side of busy B road.
Nice guy came to check I was okay and had it all under control.
Popped into railway depot in Crawley to drop off my ballast from this morning and had a cruise home through Croydon.
Have a few bits to sort out before next venture out.
Thanks again Mark and see you all soon.
