My mate was the British National Hot Rod champ in 07. In 98 he built a stunning car, a Clio spaceframe car by AutoCross, cost him about £20k. Concourse job virtually, looked stunning. First time out testing at Wimbledon or Arena Essex about 10 laps in a rise joint let go, put him into the wall at about 80mph. By wall I mean steel wall to an instant stop. Virtually destroyed the car, the front half anyway. He rang AutoCross, they said "oh, yeah, thecrosr joints you get in the kit can do that, we do sell updated ones but they are much more expensive...." my mate was livid. Since then he always buys top quality ones, if you choose rose joints you need to be prepared to pay for decent ones.

Squeaking is generally a bad sign of dry joints and probably soon followed by a bang!

I don't see why a rose joint would sqeak unless it's starting to clog up. One of mine appears to be rusted to the bolt that runs through it - which is a bit worrying because it suggests that the bolt turns in the bracket as the suspension moves rather the joint turning round the bolt  New ones should turn up today.
