Transmission - Diffs / Gearbox work - refurbs

Postby greenwoo » Fri Jun 18, 2010 7:02 pm

Right, these guys get a huge thumbs up from me - rare I know as i'm a fussy beggar. In this day and age its unusual to find a perfect blend of knowledge, good service and cost. Sure we'vce all come across folks that know their onions, but all too often they're difficult to deal with or deadlines come and go ........pleased to say 1st hand that with these guys that isnt the case.
Now our Caterham bretheren have known about Road and Race Transmissions for years - and have kept that little secret to themselves - the rotters! Not only do they do a lot of work on customers cars - popping in limited slippers into standard diffs, but they're also a dab hand with the boxes and have acted in a consulting capacity for some models.
Where is this hi-tech set up? Oh didn't i say, that was the icing on the cake for me, a proper old fashioned engineering shop in a barn in a farm near me in Shoreham Kent. Gears, diffs, casings giving the backdrop to where the action takes place.

Phil the main man is ably assisted by Keith - 2 guys that have specialised in their field for many many years. My type 9 was refurbed and turned round in 24 hours and i get the feeling that Phil isn't prone to exaggeration in terms of timescales. Cost - well let's say that it was a very competitive price, that wasn't the only reason that i chose to use them, the knowledge and friendly advice over the phone helped with that!

Phil has a load of bits n pieces knocking around, so whether you want a part refurbed or perhaps want a rebuilt component off the shelf - give him a call. I'm sure if for whatever reason he can't help he'll be able to refer you in another direction!
