Brands Hatch Test Day

Postby b33fy » Fri Sep 21, 2018 5:25 pm

Caught up with Billy today and did a bit of photography, Had a hunch and took a punt on a test day at Brands Hatch, in the hope there'll be something interesting testing for the weekend's historic meet. The hunch paid off and we were not disappointed.. a few shots below..

All very good Mike, but the Escort always do it for me, and you have a couple of good ones there.
Were you using the new lens ? all pictures were very sharp well done Mike.

Thanks Colin, using new lens. Manual focus at times though as the autofocus has a habit of locking onto the nearest object which is usually a branch, wire fence or Armco.

You're really getting the hang of this photography lark

My favourite is the Castrol Escort 101, the perfect amount of background and wheel blurring with no obvious processing effects........brilliant :)

Thanks Duncan, got a few similar shots of other Escorts, Tina’s and Elans. Will put a few more up over the weekend. Tried to keep the majority of shots “au naturale” though that ones been put through the mill. The original was underexposed somewhat, because the light changed from one minute to the next. It’s been HDR’d to pull out some detail, then lightroom’d to lift the exposure, keeping it as natural as possible. I liked the composition hence making the effort with it.

Low resolution original below..

Thanks Steve, Tony, as much as I enjoy the field trip, processing, and end result, it makes it even more worthwhile when others enjoy the images.

Yeh signature image.. gotta get another, getting too old to keep climbing that bitch.
