Oh and edit to say that wasn't that the year the standpipes were out? My parents told me about how they would only flush for number twos, and once caught me drinking out of the toilet that year!

It was the year of Standpipes and three years later we had 3 day weeks and blackouts!
As it a kid it was great times playing top trumps by candle light was cool.
no worries and running around in swimming trunks forthe entire 6 week holidays was great.
Dan as for you drinking out the toilet bowl.......... it answers so many questions
