Laurel and Hardy moment today....

managed to get ever closer to the rocks, which made it tougher to use the chainsaw as it was forever catching a rock that was hidden by some of the roots. So i grabbed a fork and attached some that were growing between the 2 lines of rocks that form one end.........yeah, its coming...
after attacking a particular bunch i reached down with my left hand and grabbed them, the bastard things put up a fight, so to keep my balance i leaned a bit on my right hand side - which happened to be holding .....the fork.

Yep, straight through the liner. Luckily the liner was clean where i did it, so after informing the rest of the road that i was a stupid F55cker, i grabbed some tape to mark the holes off for repair at a later time.
ironic.....wielded a chainsaw and never touched the liner, and 3 mins after picking a form up managed to commit the obvious ....

pure muppetry.

I did imagine you plunging into the pond when you said Laurel and Hardy, so I was a little disappointed. You know this thread could do with photos :)

Pics....i agree Duncan, funnily enough i wanted to take a picture of the heron scarer i made years ago as Tony had put his effort up....
truth be told.....my phone was at the other end of the garden....(well nearly) and that bloody pond has just about broken me. Pitiful as it sounds - i couldn't face hobbling to go and get it

Knees/back/shoulders are just about seized up....at one point earlier if a drone had flown over it may have looked like i was engaging in an unnatural act on the lawn - truth be told it was some weird back stretching to try and unlock it.

Indeed Tony, further installments on the pond are a definite and further episodes in the life of Mr G DIY'er extraordinaire will no doubt follow.

Such episodes may include snappy titles such as;

I fought the bush and the bush won - a non sexual reference to a sturdy Laurel

I poisoned Ivy, chemical warfare at its best.

Too much love will kill you - or how I overfed the lawn

Time to confess. So, some of my e-cigarette batteries are getting a bit long in the tooth, and one recently packed up all together. I wonder what's inside that metal tube?? Pop it in the vice, prize the top off, there's a small circuit board, and possibly a sharp edge or was that something hot? Whatever, let's force the battery out of the metal tube, there's that hot feeling again....Finally it's out, looks more like a capacitor to me, two thin metal foils with some film/liquid between them. Blimey that's getting hot now, best throw it on the garage floor. Just as well, bl##dy thing went off like a firework, flames jetting out of both ends of the cylindrical battery :o Slightly burnt finger but otherwise unscathed, what a numpty, I guess it was the thermal runaway your hear of with mobile phone batteries. Next dodgy one will go in the bin without any outside interference :D

Brave man Tony!

I can still remember my science teacher cutting a tiny piece off some lithium and dropping it into water. It's very reactive stuff :lol:
